An invitation to Coimbra

The Steering Committee and the Local Organising Committee cordially invites you to attend the 3rd European Conference on Pavement and Asset Management, to be held on July 7 - 9, 2008, at University of Coimbra, Portugal.

The first Conference was held at Budapest, Hungary, and the second one at Berlin, Germany. The host of the third Conference is the Department of Civil Engineering of the Faculty of Sciences and Technology, integrated in the University of Coimbra, which is one of the oldest universities in the world with its 700 years of history.

The increasing traffic volumes expected for the next decade and decades to come, leads to the need of performing sustainable maintenance and rehabilitation of transportation networks assets. This is the key challenge for the majority of european transportation administrations and transport infrastructure engineers and researchers.

Therefore, the main objective of this Conference is to exchange innovation for the maintenance and the rehabilitation of all network assets, as road pavements, bridges, and tunnels, having in mind the user' needs and expectations, and the integration of the required resources, promoting the truly transport infrastructure asset management. The technical program includes keynote lectures on two subjects of relevance for the Conference objectives and sessions on eight different themes covering the main concerns on asset management and pavement engineering.
