Access to Coimbra


There will be transfers from Porto and Lisbon Airports to Coimbra at 2008, July 7, one in the end of the morning and other in the end of the afternoon. One transfer from Coimbra to both airports will be provide at 2008, July 10, in the most favourable timetable. For this you should inform organization about the flight timetable at registration application. Nevertheless, to get to Coimbra and EPAM3 other solution could be taken according to next information.

Arriving from Porto

By car: You can take the freeway in direction to Lisbon and go out in direction to Coimbra Sul with a toll around 6€. (120Km)

By train: From Airport the best way is to take a metro in Airports do Campanhã (purple line, about 33’, http://www.metrodoporto.pt/(...)/879099.pdf). Is also possible to take a taxi and it will cost you about 18€. Once in Campanhã Train Station, you should take a train to Coimbra. For timetables you may look for http://www.cp.pt. For a most comfortable trip you should select a Alfa Pendular or a Intercidades.

By bus: From Airport to the Bus Station you can take a metro in Airport to São Bento (Orange line, about 31’, http://www.metrodoporto.pt/(...)). If you prefer to take a taxi it will cost you about 18€. The Bus Station is in Garagem Atlantico, Rua Alexandre Herculano, near São Bento, and there you can take a direct bus to Coimbra. For timetables you may look for http://www.rede-expressos.pt. This site only exists in Portuguese language.

Arriving from Lisbon

By car: You can take the freeway in direction to Norte and go out in direction to Coimbra Sul with a toll around 12€. (200Km)

By train: The best choice to arrive to Oriente Train Station from Airport, is to take a taxi that will cost you about 6€. (Is possible that in 2008 metro from airport can be an alternative, it isn’t currently finished). Once in Oriente Station you should take a train to Coimbra. For timetables you may look for http://www.cp.pt. For a most comfortable trip you should select a Alfa Pendular or a Intercidades.

By bus: The best choice to arrive to Bus Station from Airport is also to take a taxi to Bus Station in Praça Marechal Humberto Delgado - Rua das Laranjeiras and it will cost you about 9€. (Is possible that in 2008 metro from airport can be an alternative, it isn’t currently finished). There, you take a direct Bus to Coimbra.
